Dear Parents/Guardians

If your child is a member of our Junior/Beginners Class which is on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday 5pm till 6pm could we kindly remind you of the clubs and your responsibilities.

The class is STRICTLY for 1 hour only, and parents MUST be present to collect their child/children for 5:55pm so that you are present at 6:00pm when the children are dismissed from the class. We are an extremely busy Club and at 6pm our whole Boxing Squad and adults are waiting to start training.

It is a serious breach of Birkenhead Venture’s and England Boxing Safeguarding & Child Protection Policies to have Junior/Beginner class members around adults unless very strictly vetted to do so. It is an absolute PRIORITY that all parents are at the gym for 5:55pm to collect their child/children as not only is this a breach of policy, but our insurance does not cover beyond 6pm for your child. We have a lot of Boxers at the gym at 6pm which means we cannot and will not babysit your child/children which is not our responsibility.

ALL BIRKENHEAD VENTURE COACHES hold current England Boxing Coaching Qualifications at various levels and are England Boxing DBS Vetted, trained in First Aid, Safeguarding and Child Protection. All coaches are extremely aware of their responsibilities of looking after our members.

If any member of the public or parents would like to discuss any issues mentioned, or are curious to any of our dedicated policies, please do not hesitate to contact the club’s Safeguarding & Child Protection Officer Mr Russell Biggs on russellbiggs@wirral.gov.uk or alternatively pop into the gym Mon to Fri 5pm till 7:30pm to discuss with Head Coach & Secretary Mr Sean Trodden
