Our Team

There are few things as rewarding as setting a goal and reaching it. Our team of professional trainers use their years of experience and knowledge to create lasting and rewarding relationships with our members, helping them to set and achieve their goals.

What our coaches work with you on

Technical Sparring: For Boxers who are not picking things up quickly, this must now be regularly incorporated into the session.

Condition Sparring: This is used to help boxers improve without taking punishment or being put off. Put a condition on the spar, i.e, a jab only, lead hand shots only, catch and counter only - set the individual skill.

Footwork Drills: Like your stance, boxing footwork helps fighters maintain balance. It is also crucial to being able to deliver effective punch combinations, improving accuracy with every hit, and setting boxers up for offensive moves.

Hand Defences: This is one of the most important aspects of boxing. It keeps fighters out of danger when the going gets rough in the ring. Coaches will be teaching this on regular basis.

Trunk Movement: Very much like Tech Sparring, this must be woven into each session to develop the boxers core strength and agility. Mobility and movement training also helps reduce muscular imbalances and reduce likelihood of injury.

Coach-Boxer relationships: These are to be encouraged, but not at the expense of other squad boxers on 'Squad nights'. Monday/Wednesday/Friday evenings, coaches are required to work on drills with every squad member and rotate their coaching onto the next group as the groups complete drills.
If you'd like to work with a particular boxer or boxers then do this outside of the squad training nights as extra work.

There are a few exceptions to this, for example: when a boxer is approaching a Contest/Championships as attention to detail is required. Preparing for a spar does not warrant this exception. Venture boxing asks each coach to abide by this: we're here to develop all boxers and spread the love equally.

Skipping, shadow Boxing & Bagwork: These coaching these basics improves the boxer's technique. Practicing good form will improve your punches, body movement, and overall performance.

Matchmaking: This shall be the job and responsibility of the Competition Secretary alone.
